Gratitude and Praise

Father, I pray that _____ will give thanks in all circumstances, for this is Your will for him in Christ Jesus. 1 Thessalonians 5:18

May _____ shout for joy to You, O Lord, joining in with all the earth. It is my earnest hope that _____ will worship You with gladness, coming before You with joyful songs. May she know deep in her heart that You are God, it is You who have made her, and she is Yours. _____ is one of Your people, a sheep of Your pasture. Oh, that _____ would enter Your gates with thanksgiving and Your courts with praise, giving thanks to You and praise to Your name! For You are good, and Your love endures forever, Your faithfulness continues through all generations. Psalm 100

Father, open my eyes to see what You have done for me! Fill me with the wonder of Your saving love, and I will be like one who dreams. Then my mouth will be filled with laughter, and my tongue with singing. Then I will say among the people, “The Lord has done great things for me,” and I will be glad. Psalm 126: 1-2

May _____ pronounce a blessing on Your name, Lord, because You have heard the voice of his supplications! You are his strength and his shield; his heart trusts in You, and he is helped. Therefore _____ greatly rejoices, and with his song he will praise You. Psalm 28:6-7

Father, teach _____ to let Your peace rule in her heart, since she was called to be a member of the body of Christ. I pray she will be thankful. May she let Your word dwell richly within her as she teaches and admonishes others with all wisdom, as she sings psalms, hymns and spiritual songs with gratitude in her heart towards You. And whatever _____ does, in word or in deed, may she do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to You, Father, through Him. Colossians 3: 15-20

Father, as Jesus gave thanks at His last Passover supper even though He knew of the suffering to come, fill my heart with thanks and gratitude, no matter the circumstances. Teach me to say, along with David, “I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth.”  Fill me with Your Spirit, so I speak psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in my heart to You, giving thanks always. Enable me to say, “The Lord gives, and the Lord takes away; blessed be the name of the Lord.” Luke 22, Psalm 34:1, Ephesians 5:19-20, Job 1:21

You are good, Father, a stronghold in the day of trouble, and You know those who trust You. Teach _____ to trust You. Jonah prayed to You from the belly of the whale, knowing that when his soul fainted within him, You heard his prayer as he sacrificed to You with the voice of thanksgiving. As Paul and Silas trusted You in prison, Father, praying and singing hymns to You while they were in chains, show _____ to praise You everywhere and at all times. Nahum 1:7, Jonah 2:7, 9, Acts 16:23-26

Through Jesus, let _____ continually offer the sacrifice of praise to You, that is, the fruit of her lips, giving thanks to Your name. _____ should not forget to also do good and share, for with such sacrifices You are well pleased. Hebrews 13:15

Every morning, Lord, I want to rise and rejoice, for this is the day that You have made. Today Your mercy is brand-new; great is Your faithfulness. Every good and perfect gift comes straight from You, the Father of lights, and You never, ever change; there is no shadow of turning with You. Psalm 18:24, Lamentations 3:23, James 1:17

Father, warn _____ not to ignore what he knows of You, because there are men, though they know You, who do not glorify You as God, nor are they thankful to You. They will become futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts will be darkened. Instead, may _____ praise You, and call upon Your name, declare Your deeds among the people and exalt Your name. May he sing to You, for You have done excellent things. Isaiah 12:4-5

Lord, I pray that _____ will thank You- You are so good! Your love never runs out. You have set her free; now I pray she will tell the world! May she thank You for Your marvelous love, for Your miracle mercy to the children You love. I pray she will offer thanksgiving sacrifices, telling the world what You’ve done! I pray she will be wise, and think this over: it is time she (and I) appreciated Your deep love. From Psalm 107 MSG

Though the fig tree may not blossom, nor fruit be on the vines; though the labor of the olive may fail, and the fields yield no food; though the flock may be cut off from the fold, and there be no herd in the stalls- YET I WILL REJOICE IN THE LORDI will joy in the God of my salvation. The Lord God is my strength; He makes my feet like deer’s feet, and He will make me walk on my high hills. Habakkuk 3:17-19

Praise God from Whom all blessings flow, Praise Him all creatures here below, Praise Him above, ye heavenly hosts, Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost!

Joyful, joyful, we adore Thee, God of glory, Lord of love; Hearts unfold like flowers before Thee, opening to the sun above. Melt the clouds of sin and sadness; Drive the dark of doubt away; Giver of immortal gladness, Fill us with the light of day!
