Prayers: Handling Stress and Pressure with Faith

Father, make these words so real to me: “Come to Me, _____, when you are laboring and heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your soul. For My yoke is easy, and My burden is light.” Matthew 11:28-30

May _____ be anxious for nothing, but in everything, by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let his requests be made known to You; and Your peace, which passes all understanding, will guard his heart and mind through Christ Jesus. Help _____ to know and deeply believe that he can do all things through You who strengthen him. Help _____ to see in his life the wonderful promise that You will supply all his need according to Your riches in glory by Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7, 13, 19

Father, teach _____ to cast all her cares on You, for You care for her. When she gives You her worries, You will sustain her; You will never permit the righteous to be moved. 1 Peter 5:7, Psalm 55:22

Father, remind _____ not to worry about his life, what he shall eat and what he shall drink, nor about his body, what he will put on. Lift his eyes to the birds of the air, and remind him that the birds neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet You feed them. Impress on his heart that he is of more value than these. He has never grown an inch or gained a pound by worrying; Father, please remind him of this.

Show _____ the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin, and yet even Solomon in his glory never dressed like one of these. Now if You so care for the lilies of the field which are today, and are gone tomorrow, will You not much more care for _____?

Therefore, Father, help _____and I both not to worry, saying “what shall we eat?” or “what shall we drink,” or, “what shall we wear?” For You know that we have need of these things. But if we seek first Your kingdom and Your righteousness, all these things shall be added to us. Father, instruct _____'s heart to seek first Your kingdom and Your righteousness. We will not worry about tomorrow. Thank You Jesus!! Matthew 6:25-34

Father, _____ is an earthen vessel with the treasure of Your Spirit within her, so that the excellence of Your power may be clearly from You, and not from her. _____ is hard-pressed on every side, yet not crushed; she is perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed. Therefore do not allow _____ to lose heart. Even though her body is perishing, her eternal self is being renewed by Your Spirit, day by day. For her light afflictions, which are but for a moment, are working in her a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory. Teach _____ to turn her gaze from the things which may be seen, to the things which cannot be seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal. 2 Corinthians 4:7-9, 16-18

Let not _____’s heart be troubled, Father; help him believe in You and believe also in Jesus. In this world, _____ will have trouble, but he can be of good cheer because You have overcome the world. The Holy Spirit within him will teach him all things, and help him remember all the things You have said to him in Your Word. You give Your peace to _____- not the kind of peace the world tries to give, but YOUR peace. Let not his heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. John 14:1, 26-27, 16:33

Blessed is ____ if she will trust in You, Lord; she is blessed when her hope is in You. For _____ shall be like a tree planted by the waters, which spreads out its roots by the river. _____ will not fear when the heat comes; but her leaves will be green, and she will not be anxious in the year of drought, nor will she cease from yielding fruit. Jeremiah 17:7-8

Lord, when _____ is in distress, I pray he will call out to You, for You will answer him and set him free. You are for him, so he nothing to fear. No one can harm him at all. Psalm 118:5-6 NLT

Lord, unless You had helped _____, her soul would have been overwhelmed. But Your mercy, O Lord, will hold her up. In the multitude of anxieties with in her, Your comforts will delight her soul. May she allow Your Spirit to govern her mind, for then she will have life and peace. Psalm 94:17-19, Romans 8:6

Lord, whenever troubles come my way, help me to consider it an opportunity for great joy. I know that when my faith is tested, my endurance has a chance to grow. So let it grow, Lord, for when my endurance is fully developed, I will be perfect and complete, wanting nothing. James 1:2-4 NLT

Lord, You are my shepherd, I shall not want. You make me to lie down in green pastures; You lead me beside still waters. You restore my soul. You lead me in the paths of righteousness for Your name’s sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for You are with me. Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table for me in the presence of my enemies, You anoint my head with oil; my cup runs over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in Your house forever. Psalm 23
