One Day at a Time

Father, I pray that I will seek first Your kingdom and Your righteousness, and You will give me the things that I need. I pray you will show me how I can exercise myself toward godliness…  which is profitable for all things, having promise of the life that now is and of that which is to come. Matthew 6:33, 1 Timothy 4:7-8

Lord, it is because of Your mercies that we are not consumed, because Your compassion never fails. Your mercies are new every morning- Great is Your faithfulness! You are my portion, Lord and therefore I will hope in You. You are good to those who wait for You, to the soul that seeks You. It is good that we should hope and wait quietly for Your salvation. Lamentations 3:22-25

Lord, be gracious to me and my family; we long for You. Be our strength every morning, our salvation in time of distress. Isaiah 33:2

Lord, there are many plans in my heart, for myself and for my children. But it is Your counsel that will stand. Help me not to boast about tomorrow, because I don’t even know what today will bring. Teach me to say, “If it is Your will, Lord, then I will live and do this or that.” Help me trust  in Your plans. For You know the plans You have for my life and for my family’s. These plans are for good, not for evil, to give us a future and a hope. And Your very best plan for me is this: That I will seek You with all my heart, for then I will find You. Proverbs 19:21, 27:1, James 4:15-16, Jeremiah 29:11, 13

Lord, teach me to walk by faith and not by sight. 2 Corinthians 5:7

Father, may I forget those things which are behind and reach forward to those things which are ahead, pressing on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call You have for us in Christ Jesus. Philippians 3:13

Dear God, I pray that I will not remember the former things, nor consider the things of old, because You are doing a new thing. Now it shall spring forth. You will make a way in the wilderness and stream in the desert. Isaiah 43:18-19

God, help me give my entire attention to what You are doing right now, so I don’t get worked up about what may or may not happen tomorrow. You will help me deal with whatever hard things come up when the time comes. Matthew 6: 34 MSG

Father, there is a time for every purpose under heaven. There is a time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck what is planted; a time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; a time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; a time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing; a time to gain, and a time to lose; a time to keep and a time to throw away; a time to tear, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak; a time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace… You have made everything beautiful in its time. You have also set eternity in our hearts, except that no one can find out the work that You are doing from beginning to end. So there is nothing better for us than to rejoice and do good, and also that every one should eat and drink and enjoy the good fruit of his or her labor- it is a gift from You.

For whatever You do, it shall be forever. Nothing can be added to it and nothing taken from it. You are the Bread of Life, the true bread of heaven. All I ask is that as You accomplish Your purposes under heaven, You give me day by day my daily bread, my daily portion of You. Amen Ecclesiastes 3:1-14, John 6:33, 35, Luke 11:3
